Project Overview

This school underwent a comprehensive refurbishment, which included the creation of a new stage area for performances. The stage was designed in a curved formation to ensure that the entire audience could obtain the best view possible and the unique curved design of the stage required specially fabricated NHD05 nosings to match the shape of all four of the steps leading to the stage. Genesis .01 White tread was selected as a suitable colour in compliance with LRV guidelines, which state that there should be at least a 30-point difference between the LRV of the Stair Nosing and that of the floor covering.

As standard, nosings would not have been suitable for the curved formation, expert surveying was carried out to carefully template the steps, ensuring precise measurements were available to allow for the fabrication of the customised nosings. The fabricated nosings were then delivered to Avenue Flooring and installed by their expert fitting team. This collaborative effort ensured that the stage’s unique design was seamlessly integrated with the school’s overall refurbishment.

The precise fabrication of the nosings ensured a seamless transition from the steps to the stage, enhancing both the functionality and aesthetics of the performance area. Overall, the refurbishment project, including the creation of the new stage area, successfully met the school’s requirements and project deadlines while incorporating a tailored solution to accommodate the curved design.
