Castle Court Shopping Centre, Belfast

Project Overview

Belfast’s Castle Court shopping centre required numerous hard-wearing entrance mats to accommodate the retail outlet’s footfall of up to 16 million visitors per year, our 12mm TrakMat® London Fluted Rubber (EM8951) provided a durable, effective and practical solution.

Situated in the centre of Northern Ireland’s capital it is the country’s third largest shopping centre and required three
new entrance mats totalling over 100sqm, the largest of which was 64sqm.

The TrakMat® system is a bespoke manufactured product created to the client’s specification; the mat size, depth and inserts have multiple options. For this project the fluted rubber variant of the versatile system was chosen; the serrated design cushions traffic to reduce noise and absorbs dirt while encouraging water dispersion to offer a superior slip resistance.

The unique design allows the matting to be easily rolled facilitating efficient transport, installation, and cleaning. Our
ASM helped aid the project by measuring the areas for the mat, materials were then distributed by Robert Kirk Flooring for Gem Contracts to install.

The wholly bespoke matting requirement was efficiently measured, created, supplied, and installed exactly to the client’s specification.
